The opening reception of the pieces of heART exhibit was held on Thursday, March 19, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at MVCC’s ThINCubator, located at 326 Broad Street in Utica, NY. The reception was free and open to the public.

The exhibition featured 30 paintings and a selection of pottery pieces created as part of Upstate Caring Partners’ pieces of heART Program.

Pieces of heART is a creative art expression program of Upstate Caring Partners. Multitalented adult artists worked in a wide range of mediums, bringing their unique style and technique to every piece created. The vision of pieces of heART was to create a stepping stone for artists to develop their skills and explore new opportunities. The program continued to expand its offerings to meet artists’ desires; at the time of the exhibition, artists worked primarily in painting, photography, and pottery.

“Pieces of heART was thrilled to return to ThINCubator for our March exhibit,” said program representatives. “This was a great opportunity for the public and the local art community to learn more about our program and the artists who make it possible.”

Prior to the art exhibition, ThINCubator featured a “Fireside Chat” Q&A from 5:30–6 p.m. The in-depth discussion was hosted by Ryan Miller, Director of MVCC’s ThINCubator, and featured Lindsay Giannatelli, Recreation Therapy Specialist for the pieces of heART program.
